Meski Kalah, Pengabdian Tak Surut
25 02 2010 Empat tahun ia membentuk kepengurusan ranting partai dan membina warga di Kecamatan Rambutan dan Kecamatan Banyuasin III. Sudah bertahun-tahun juga ia menjadi kader Partai Demokrasi Indonesia Perjuangan (PDIP), bahkan ia pernah menjadi anggota tim sukses caleg dari PDIP. Namun, apa daya. Caleg nomor urut tujuh dari ini harus mengubur asa untuk bisa menduduki kursi DPRD Banyuasin. Ia hanya mendulang tidak lebih dari 850 suara, jauh di bawah perolehan suara caleg PDIP nomer urut satu, yang mendapat sekitar 2500 suara. Ia adalah Anwar Ibrahim (38), alumnus Sekolah Demokrasi angkatan kedua.Read more
Lembata: Geliat Petugas Pemutakhiran Data Pemilih Pilpres
25 02 2010 Usianya sudah tak lagi muda. Meski begitu, semangat untuk berkorban demi pesta demokrasi, membuatnya rela meluangkan waktu dan tenaga agar bisa mendata pemilih di wilayah RW 02, Waikomo, Kelurahan Lewoleba Barat, Lembata. Sebagai anggota Petugas Pemutakhiran Data Pemilih (PPDP) pilpres yang ditunjuk Lurah Lewoleba Barat, sejak 6 Mei lalu Gabriel Kasa Pation (59) menghimbau seluruh warganya di RW 02 yang tidak terdata dalam DPT Pemilu legislatif di Lembata April lalu, untuk mendaftarkan diri kepadanya. Uniknya, ia mengumumkan hal ini dengan cara berteriak tanpa mikrofon di lorong-lorong di wilayahnya setiap jam tujuh malam. Ketika cara ini dirasakan kurang efektif, barulah ia mendatangi warganya dari rumah ke rumah. Sebuah pengorbanan yang tidak dapat diukur dengan apapun.Read more
Tak Dibayar Tak Jadi Soal
25 02 2010 Di tengah hiruk-pikuk koalisi partai dan tarik ulur capres-cawapres, sebagian orang tengah melakukan perbaikan Daftar Pemilih Tetap (DPT). Mereka menyambangi rumah warga satu per satu selama beberapa hari. Dua di antara sebagian orang itu adalah Sonto (64) dan Tuangkat (43), dua Ketua Rukun Tetangga (RT) di Desa Gubug Klakah, Kecamatan Poncokusumo, Kabupaten Malang, Jawa Timur. Mereka mengaku, tidak mendapat imbalan untuk melakukan perbaikan DPT ini. Bagi mereka, ada tidaknya imbalan tak jadi soal, karena memperbaiki DPT adalah bagian dari kewajiban.Read more
